A little bit of history...

Wilcox Cemetery is located in Nodaway County, Missouri.  The original owner of the land where the cemetery is located was Elijah B. Heflin, who purchased the land September 1, 1856.  From newspaper items, it would seem that the cemetery was originally called "Heflin Cemetery". As time passed, it became known as "Wilcox Cemetery".  Reverend Syvester Heflin, who died February 12, 1874 and was buried in Wilcox Cemetery, donated the land for public use.
